Private murder is okay, Hezbollah sucks

I hate to be in a position of agreeing with this president, but he's absolutely on track when it comes to Hezbollah and Lebanon. Felicity obviously did not leave for Israel this week. That seemed like a bad idea under the circumstances. When, I ask you, is it going to be okay for Israel to defend herself? I was in Kiryat Sh'mona when the ketuschas were coming in back in the early 90s. It was SO off the U.S. news pages. Nobody EVER reported that Lebanon was bombing northern Israel. Oh, but let her fire back and all hell breaks loose. God forbid the tiniest little country in the region defend itself from enemies hundreds of times its size or population. I can't stand George Bush, but Christiane Amanpour can kiss my skinny Jewish ass.

And part B of my rant is this: HOW in the name of Christ can he call the disposal of stem cells MURDER and deny federal funding for such MURDER, but when such MURDER is commited by research entitities in the private sector, well, that's none of his business?

What a freak.

I hate to agree with him on anything. I don't know who got some sense into his head about Israel, but it gives me terrible agita to not be able to just totally despise him across the board. I guess that's agita I'm glad to have, but ... arg.

Who knew? Are you friggin' kidding me?

So there I was, at the Collier County Democratic Committee's monthly meeting, attended by some 250 lost-souled liberals. These people are so pitiful in this county. But I loved them tonight. These were the party faithful, those hearty stalwarts who keep registering Dem and writing letters and protesting for peace and justice in a county that's 70 percent GOP. I don't know what the hell they're ever going to accomplish.

However, tonight they had the creepy little editorial page editor of the Naples Daily News as the guest speaker, and during the Q & A, one little old lady said, "You endorsed George Bush in 2000 and in 2004. Now that we've got a trillion-dollar deficit, no weapons of mass destruction, and over 3,000 war dead, how do you feel about your choice to support George Bush?"

And creepy little editor guy hems and haws and finally says, "Who knew?"

Well, they didn't let him get away with it, and everyone starts booing and yelling, "WE did! We did!"

And as the hubbub is settling down, one loud guy in the back added, "TWICE!"

Dear Weiss 2

Do you guys listen to the political bullshit when you're over there? I suppose some of "you guys," being human critters of various make and model, do, and some of you guys don't, but I wondered whether some might deliberately choose not to pay attention to all the bullshit posturing, while others might be tracking the hot rhetorical action pretty closely. And then there's crap like the Green incident, which would be enough to make a bunch of Tibetan monks riot, let alone freaky hot-head muslims in wartime. Strange days, indeed. Send more pictures.
