Dean, without Jerry

I always thought Dean Martin was funnier than Jerry Lewis, but I'm not a fan of sloppy slapstick, so Dean Martin's wry, straight-man humor was more to my liking.

Tropical storm Dean won't be worth talking about until Friday, but perhaps by then, he'll have something funny or interesting to offer. These are grim times in Collier County. Political ugliness abounds. It is like theater or the keystone cops or something.

The problem with white collar, non-violent crime of all kinds, political, economic, various torts, etc., is that there is no enforcement. These are all basically crimes that victims have to prosecute themselves...

Eventually, I'm going to have something worth saying again, but it's going to take some warm-up. I haven't written anything of substance in a while. It's all just hurried little responses to the latest volley of political bullshit.

I'm not nervous. I hate these little tricks they do to make you look anxious. The card is bent, and I was unbending it, that's all. Bastages...

Hey, guess what, a tipster told me that Willy Willkom has a moustache style that has been sported by many perverted men over the course of the 20th century. Quick! Someone send me a work order for $25k to investigate this anonymous tipster's claims!

The camera shots of the hands of both the councillor and yourself were awesome. When Oliver Stone was making films that mattered he did a great rendition of news reporters and used that on them in the movie Natural Born Killers. Great technique.

The badge shot was great too, you better renew because it expires in a couple of weeks.

Wait a second. GOOD FUCKING LORD, $25,000 to someone to head an investigation based on anonymous tipster? I hope all parties involved in this and splitting the profits amongst themselves. You better ask for your cut too. Sure, go ahead and investigate, but why 25k??

Today was the day it should have been resolved. What happened?

And I hope all is well. Have a great weekend

Oh,my hell, that is hilarious! Tony, yr awesome. I gotten so muck flack for that shot of my hands! I think I'm going to forward your comment to BOB, the photog who did it, and maybe the jerks at the local paper who don't seem to understand that the story isn't the ALLEGATIONS, but the other jerk who MADE them, and the board spending $25K to pile on to the witch hunt as if it was VALID in ANY way! Nice work if you can get it, huh? Make false allegations, then spend public money to prove that they're false. And that's only the money spent on the primary investigator! That doesn't even begin to count what was spent on our other guys, our IN-HOUSE counsel, who had to be in it up to eyebrows. Why? Who knows. Hey, a lawyer's got to make a living somehow, huh?

BTW, the not-surprising outcome, completely exonerating my boss, was totally overshadowed by the announcement that Delta Airlines is pulling out of Naples, leaving my airport with no airlines, basically. Only now THAT is being blamed on my boss, too. Also global warming and blackheads. These people won't quit.

From Wink News article:

"However, Delta is pulling out this time because the runways are not long enough."

Someone has to pass the buck somewhere...and they passed at least $25k of it to some Dud and then tryed to pawn it off on the director.

Nothing like pointing fingers instead of cooperating to get things done. It's the way things work these days.

AE on TV!

It's so funny when you hear people's voices for the first time. I'll never forget the first time I spoke verbally to Furstie, he said that I "didn't sound like I wanted to blow up a church on the phone." Another person was shocked that I didn't "sound more like Lisa Simpson."

You're very vibrant on film, AE. And you have a very pleasantly melodic speaking voice.

Aw, shucks, thanks.

Where is your site, Bess? What up?

Posted by: ae at August 22, 2007 6:38 PM

I'm at urbanspinster.org now -- I keep meaning to put up one of those automatically-forwarding URL doohickeys on the old site, but haven't yet gotten around to it...
