Separated at birth ...?

Is there really anything else I could add to this in the way of commentary? Is this a genetic problem?

Comments on the matter...

Mel Gibson may have made poor choices and made anti-Semitic comments during his drunken stupor, but I am going to put it out there that The Passion of the Christ is NOT anti-semitic.

And I'm not saying that YOU'RE saying that but I overheard some chucklehead's opinion last night and read all of the movie reviews back in the day and then saw the film for myself recently and found the opinions to be bullocks (or whatever it is the Brits say)!

I can't wait until the aliens arrive and then we'll all bond together as a species and do what we do best. Hurt them.

In regards to this post, I agree, Saddam would make a good Braveheart.

Well, the truth about that is strongly a matter of perception. There was a clear effort to have the Jews' role in JC's demise made as diabolical as possible, and to wash the hands of Pontius Pilate. And because you are neither Catholic nor Jew, you probably would not see what the kerfuffle was all about, but the old school Catholics know, because they grew up with it, with hearing the Jews villified, even into the modern day, for the crucifixion. And what that's resulted in, year after year, has been pogroms and riots and spontaneously incited violence against Jews every Easter time. It was a tradition that some looked forward to, blaming the Jews for the death of Jesus, and whatever contemporary ills could be piled on, and then going on a good, old-fashioned mob rampage. Kind of like Goys Gone Wild on Spring Break.

Mel's movie was exactly that ilk of incendiary.

Jesus was Jewish, his mother was Jewish, Mary #2 was Jewish, too. Herod was portrayed pretty heinously as a non-Jew. I guess it's just my own evangelical, non-Catholic, non-Jewish lens, then.

Regardless, I don't really get the anti-semitic take on the whole matter around the crucifixtion (how do you spell that word, anyways?). Jesus came to be crucified--that was His purpose. If you're mad He was crucified in the first place, you don't get your Christian faith. You should get mad at God at least. Or not believe in God. Or get mad at yourself for failing to understand anything of your relationship with God. It's ridiculous.

Wait a sec, was Mary Magdalene Jewish? OMG, that puts an entirely new (hopeful) slant on my future child-naming options.

Also, does that mean that the race of children brought into the world by Jesus and Mary Magdalene can be traced back to a 100% Jewish origin? The DaVinci Code didn't touch on that, man!
